Sprint 1 Complete – Foundation Achieved

Laying the Groundwork for AI-Driven Virtual Reality

We’ve just hit a major project milestone—Sprint 1 is officially complete! October concludes the first phase of the SENSO3D project, and the results mark a strong and stable foundation for what’s coming next.

Over the past three months, we’ve focused on developing the core AI architecture, building early 3D assets, and integrating them into a Unity-based immersive workflow. With this groundwork set, we’re ready to scale.

AI Models Now Classifying 10+ Object Types

Our machine learning team has successfully trained and tested object detection and classification models for more than 10 key object categories, including:

  • Ergonomic chairs
  • Presentation tables
  • Audio-visual equipment
  • Environment props like walls, flooring, and ambient lighting

Each object is recognized from 2D inputs and processed through our early 2D-to-3D pipeline. While models are still improving, accuracy is steadily increasing and will expand to 50+ categories in Sprint 2.

First Conference Room Assets Integrated in Unity

One of our primary achievements this sprint is the creation and integration of realistic 3D assets for a virtual conference room. These include:

  • Object classification has expanded to 10+ categories, including furniture, electronics, and decor
  • Detection accuracy continues to improve, with models trained on curated office/conference datasets
  • Metadata tagging is now partially automated based on detected features and object context

These assets are now part of our modular Unity scene that will evolve into a fully interactive VR space for remote meetings and training simulations.

Unity Import Scripts Now Automated

To streamline asset integration, we’ve developed custom Unity import scripts that automatically:

  • Adjust scale and pivot orientation
  • Assign textures and materials
  • Apply collider and physics settings
  • Add appropriate tags and metadata

This automation reduces manual work and ensures a consistent pipeline for importing AI-generated and scanned 3D models.

Strategic Shift: From Household to Business Environments

Originally envisioned as a 3D library for household items, we’ve strategically pivoted to focus on conference and business environments—where the demand for immersive virtual collaboration is growing rapidly.

This shift enables:

  • More relevant application in VR meetings, training simulations, and digital twins
  • Higher-value datasets and faster scene reconstruction
  • More focused design of Unity environments aligned with real-world office setups

Looking Ahead to Sprint 2

With the foundation set, we’re preparing to scale up in Sprint 2, focusing on:

  • Expanding the 3D object library to 1000+ models
  • Enhancing AI detection accuracy
  • Creating fully functional Lobby and Conference Room VR scenes
  • Developing an automated Unity scene population system

It’s an exciting time, and the best is yet to come.
